Facebook and several other platforms owned by Meta resumed functionality after experiencing a brief worldwide outage on Friday, leaving millions of users unable to access their accounts.
According to reports on Downdetector, the disruption began shortly after a surge of users reported error messages on both web and mobile versions of the social media apps.
Users also noted issues with Instagram and the WhatsApp desktop feature, indicating that the outage affected multiple Meta services simultaneously.
In February, the social media platform X was down for thousands of users in the United States and Britain.
