Families have less than a week left to apply for help with the costs of getting ready for the new school year.

The Back to School Bonus scheme offers a one-off payment of up to £150 towards uniforms,  stationery and other essentials for children from reception to Year 11.

The last government announced the funding in April for parents who do not receive income support and earn a combined income of £75,000 or less.

The application deadline is Friday 31 July with money due to be paid into bank accounts in August.
