Saoirse Ronan is not shying away to actively campaign for a female Bond villain role.
Expressing her strong interest once again, the Little Women star said she is “dead serious” about wanting to take on a darker role in the James Bond universe.
While searching for the next 007 has been underway, Ronan said she would especially like to portray a young female villain who channels her pent-up anger into something dangerous.
“I want to go dark,” she told Empire. “I said that I wanted to be a Bond villain and I’m dead serious.”
“I think it would be really interesting, having a young female villain,” the Lady Bird actress continued. “Especially for girls and women, to see someone who can just take all that pent-up anger and direct it somewhere.”
“There’s something interesting in that dramatically. So I would love to do more of that,” she added.
This was not the first time that the 32-year-old American-Irish beauty has expressed her desire to play a Bond villain.
In an interview from 2024, she told Vanity Fair, “I will stand by really wanting to play a Bond villain, which I will say again and again.”
