DOD Technologies Launches PFAS Testing Division
New DOD Labs unit will provide EPA-approved analytical testing for PFAS in water, soil, and other environmental samples.
DOD Technologies Inc. has launched a new division, DOD Labs, expanding the company’s capabilities to include analytical laboratory testing for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in environmental and occupational samples.
The new division will provide testing services for PFAS in drinking water, wastewater, landfill leachate, and soil, according to the company. PFAS, often referred to as “forever chemicals,” are a class of thousands of synthetic compounds known for their persistence in the environment and links to potential health risks.
DOD Labs said it will use EPA-approved analytical methods to support compliance, monitoring, and mitigation efforts as regulatory scrutiny of PFAS continues to increase at the federal and state levels. Available testing includes methods aligned with EPA Methods 533, 537.1, and 1633, which are commonly used for drinking water, non-potable water, and environmental media.
Company officials said the launch reflects growing demand for reliable PFAS testing as utilities, industries, and environmental professionals respond to evolving regulatory requirements and public health concerns.
In addition to laboratory analysis, DOD Labs said it is developing direct-reading technologies intended to support faster PFAS monitoring and decision-making in environmental health and safety applications.
DOD Technologies, founded in 2003, is known for low-level gas detection systems used across a range of industrial sectors. The company said the new laboratory division builds on its existing safety and environmental monitoring expertise.
