DALLAS: The Arbaeen (Chehlum) of Imam Hussain (AS) and the martyrs of Karbala was observed with solemnity and devotion in Dallas, Texas, where mourning congregations (Majalis) were held at various Imambargahs and, a central procession passed through downtown Dallas.

At the Alam Centre, Maulana Qasim Zaidi addressed the main gathering, highlighting the enduring message of Karbala and describing Imam Hussain’s (AS) sacrifice as a timeless symbol of justice, truth and resistance against oppression.

Following the Majalis, mourners participated in the central Arbaeen procession, carrying Alam and symbolic Taboot, while paying tribute to the martyrs of Karbala through elegies, chest-beating and prayers. Renowned reciters Shuja Haider and Kashif Jafri led the Nauha recitations, as hundreds of mourners, including families and children, took part in the commemorations.

With the conclusion of Arbaeen, the 40-day-period of mourning following Ashura formally came to an end. However, participants said the remembrance of Imam Hussain (AS) is not confined to a season, but remains a lasting source of inspiration, renewing their commitment to the values of justice, sacrifice and steadfastness against tyranny.

Organisers thanked the mourners, volunteers and law enforcement agencies for their cooperation, saying the peaceful observance reflected the community’s continued commitment to preserving the message of Karbala for future generations.
