Kelly Clarkson has no plans to attend the funeral of music executive Clive Davis.
The 44-year-old singer will likely not be among the mourners when Clive is laid to rest in New York City.
On Wednesday, an insider spilled to Naughty But Nice that Kelly’s decades-long feud with the late music mogul never fully healed.
Their feud began in the mid-2000s, when the Just Sing hitmaker publicly accused Davis of rejecting his artistic vision and later misrepresenting their relationship in his memoirs.
“Kelly never felt respected by Clive,” a source said. “She believed she had to fight him every step of the way just to make the music she wanted to make. Some wounds fade. This one didn’t.”
While the TV host stays away, organizers are reportedly working overtime to ensure the farewell reflects Clive’s influence on the music business.
“There is enormous pressure to pack that room with stars,” the insider said. “Clive spent his entire life building relationships with famous people. Even in death, the guest list matters.”
For those unversed, Clive Davis passed away on June 22. He was 94.
The music executive’s death was announced by his publicist.
“Davis passed away peacefully from age-related illness at the age of 94 at his home in Manhattan on Monday, June 22, surrounded by his family and loved ones,” the statement read.
