Wasim Akram takes an indirect dig at Imad Wasim

Former Pakistan pacer, Wasim Akram, has indirectly criticized all-rounder, Imad Wasim, questioning the commitment of players who are not actively participating in domestic cricket but express a desire to play for the national team.

In a recent interview with a local media channel, Akram raised concerns about the players who prioritize other commitments, such as T10 cricket, over tournaments like the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy or the ongoing Pakistan Cup.

“The players who are busy with Pakistan team are fine but what about others? A couple of them are sitting on television and they want to play for Pakistan. How is that possible?” Akram said.

During a recent interview with a local media channel, the left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder, responded to a fan’s question about his absence from domestic cricket.

Imad explained that he has other commitments, such as participating in T10 cricket, which prevent him from being available for tournaments like the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy or the ongoing Pakistan Cup.

It is worth noting that the 34-year-old’s last appearance in the One Day International squad was against Zimbabwe in Rawalpindi in 2020. In his ODI career, he has played 55 matches, scoring 986 runs and taking 44 wickets.
