Usher has finally broken his silence on “clone” rumours after some of his fans claimed that his lookalike had performed at his recent shows.
For those unaware, Usher came under fire after fans speculated that he had hired a lookalike to perform in his place during concerts on his Raymond & Brown Tour with Chris Brown.
Taking to his Instagram, the 47-year-old American singer-songwriter and dancer laughed off the viral speculations that gained steam on social media in early August.
He posted a video to the official R&B Tour account, in which he can be seen performing onstage. He also shared screenshots of comments he made while dismissing the clone allegations on Instagram.
In the first comment, Usher added a laughing emoji and then he went on to debunk the claims, scribbling, “Ya’ll are funny…clone? They can’t clone this??”
Another comment from the There Goes My Baby crooner read, “How ya’ll come up with this?” and added several more laughing emojis before he joked, “AI ain’t that advanced.”
It is pertinent to mention that Usher is not the first artist to face clone claims, as Selena Gomez was also the target of such allegations earlier this year.
