OGRA raises LPG price for June – SUCH TV

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has jacked up the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for June, raising the cost of a standard domestic cylinder by Rs58.51 amid inflationary pressures affecting household energy costs.

According to a notification issued by the regulator, the price of LPG has been increased by Rs4.95 per kilogram, setting the new consumer rate at Rs308.76 per kg for June.

The price of an 11.8-kg domestic cylinder has been fixed at Rs3,643.41, up from the previous month’s rate. The revised prices will take effect from June 1.

LPG serves as a key cooking and heating fuel for millions of households across Pakistan, particularly in rural and remote areas that lack access to the country’s natural gas distribution network.

The fuel is also widely used in mountainous regions and small towns where piped gas infrastructure remains limited.

The latest increase is expected to add to household expenses at a time when consumers are already grappling with higher utility and living costs.

LPG prices in Pakistan are linked to international market trends and exchange rate movements, with monthly revisions announced by the regulator.

OGRA did not immediately provide detailed reasons for the latest adjustment, but LPG prices are typically revised based on changes in the Saudi Aramco Contract Price and other market factors.
