Megyn Kelly hits back at Hayden Panettiere’s mother

Megyn Kelly has lashed out at Hayden Panettiere’s mother for criticizing her and Gayle King.

Lesley Vogel, Panettiere’s mom and former manager, told the Daily Mail she was “very, very hurt and deeply disappointed” by separate on-air remarks from CBS Mornings host Gayle King and podcaster Megyn Kelly.

Both had criticized Vogel for comments she made about her daughter shortly after Panettiere died last Sunday.

“It’s shameful. It’s unconscionable to me,” Vogel said. “No one reached out to me before.”

Addressing the criticism on her show, Megyn Kelly said, “She is very upset with yours truly and with Gayle King for walking away believing she was not a good mom. Yeah. I’m very, very blunt about it and I stand by every word. She now wants to say let me grieve. Oh please. Hayden couldn’t stand you. She asked you to just be her mother. I believe your daughter. I believe her. You wanted a cash cow, you didn’t want a daughter.”

Kelly said Hayden’s mother was responsible for putting her kids in this “disgusting and toxic” industry.

Hayden Panettiere, known for playing a cheerleader with superpowers and a country music star on the television shows “Heroes” and “Nashville” respectively, died, aged ‌36.

The two-time Golden Globe nominee was found unresponsive at an apartment complex in Greenville, South Carolina, and pronounced dead at the scene, the city’s police department said in a statement.
