A tragic accident occurred near Shahida Islam Medical College when a trailer loader hit a motor rickshaw from behind, killing seven people and injuring four others.
The incident happened on Thursday evening as both vehicles were heading towards Bahawalpur.
According to rescue officials, the victims were on their way to attend a wedding at Bahawalpur Zakhira from Permit. They belonged to the same family and were residents of Shujaabad and Ada Permit.
The deceased were identified as Muhammad Salman, 14, Sanaur Rehman, 10, Sabra Bibi, 24, Kamran, 10, Abida Bibi, 25 and Sajida Bibi, 4. The injured were Noor Fatima, Allah Ditta, Muskan Bibi, Chand Iqbal and Sakina Bibi.
They were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment
