Hometown heroes make history: Hira Qaiser crowned Pakistan Idol Sooper Star as landmark season concludes

KARACHI – Pakistan Idol concluded on a spectacular note as Hira Qaiser was crowned the Pakistan Idol SOOPER Star, marking the culmination of a nationwide search for Pakistan’s next musical sensation.

Shahzain Munir, Executive Director at English Biscuit Manufacturers (EBM), presented the trophy to Qaiser during the grand finale, concluding a landmark season that brought emerging voices from across the country to the national stage.

The Sooper Finale featured a surprise performance by Atif Aslam, marking his return after 18 years with his new album, Subah Aye Na. Adding to the historic night, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan delivered an impromptu cameo performance, making it a classic evening to remember. This was also the first time that Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan had both performed and appeared on the same stage on national television—signifying the legacy, strength and depth of Pakistani music, as well as its future, to the world.

Atif Aslam joined the finale as the SOOPER Icon as well as a guest judge, taking a seat on the esteemed panel alongside permanent judges Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Fawad Khan, Bilal Maqsood and Zeb Bangash. Together, the panel provided contestants with mentorship, professional insight and national exposure throughout the season.

Shafaat Ali, who hosted the entire season of Pakistan Idol, has also been nominated for the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, recognising his contribution to the show and its role in building national pride.

As the finale concluded, the association reflected the brand’s commitment to supporting emerging talent, strengthening cultural connections and creating shared experiences for Pakistani families.

Speaking about the association, Shahzain Munir said: “Pakistan Idol is all about celebrating and respecting musical talent, and SOOPER is a celebration of Pakistan itself. As a brand that has been part of Pakistani households for generations, this was our way of giving back to an art form—music—that has shaped my life and the lives of many others.”

Pakistan Idol showcased a diverse range of voices and musical styles, giving aspiring singers an opportunity to develop their craft, receive guidance from established artists and connect with audiences across the country.

The conclusion of the season demonstrated how a values- and purpose-driven company such as EBM, trusted by millions of Pakistanis, can collaborate with an international platform at the highest level to create meaningful opportunities for local talent. Originating in 2001 and adapted in more than 50 markets worldwide, the internationally acclaimed Idol franchise has built a global legacy of discovering and developing musical talent.
