Hilaria Baldwin takes hilarious dig at trolls for misreading one comment

Hilaria Baldwin takes a hilarious dig at a social media comment after being trolled because she misread it as a compliment.

Taking to her Instagram on Saturday, August 8, the American businesswoman and the wife of actor Alec Baldwin reacted to a comment criticizing her for being “vacuous.” However, she later stated that it was her dyslexia that made her think she was being praised in the comment.

Baldwin posted a video in which she can be seen laughing along with one of her children in bed.

She said, “I’m not gonna lie, this took me, like, a solid minute and a half to be able to read this word,” sharing the definition of vacuous, which is “an adjective meaning empty, lacking ideas, or showing no intelligence.”

“It describes things or expressions that have no real substance, meaning, or thought,” the 42-year-old further explained.

Baldwin also added a caption under her post, revealing that she read the comment as “vivacious.”

“POV: you have to do a google search before you can even be offended by the hate comment. Whatever, my dyslexia and ADHD read that as vivacious anyways,” the Beetlejuice star’s wife wrote.

It is pertinent to mention that Hilaria Baldwin has been vocal about her dyslexia and ADHD diagnosis, as she revealed in her 2025 book, Manual Not Included, that her diagnosis “greatly impact my speech, my reading, my listening, my focus, my memory and my self-confidence.”
