Stephen Mangan, who has dipped his toes in various projects of acting, comedy and presenting, opened up about his secret to polishing his acting skills.

The British actor, currently linked with The Truth on the West End, confessed that he is happy to have such a multifaceted career.

“I’m delighted to be busy in stuff that genuinely interests me. What more can you ask as an actor? Variety is the spice of life,” he told Candis magazine.

Mangan went on to say, “If you’d told that law student that this is how things would turn out, he’d have been both thrilled and amazed.”

As for his secret to better acting, he shared, “I’ve also come to realise that, if you want to be a better chess player, play against someone better than you.

“The same is true of acting. I’ve been very lucky.”

Mangan teased that he is also looking forward to exploring stage roles and musical projects.

“There’s any number of plays I’d like to do but, although I can sing in tune, I think a musical would be too hard to pull off. But never say never,” he remarked.

He even has an idea to write about. “I’d like to write my own play: I currently have an idea,” Mangan added.

Stephen Mangan has presented events like Portrait and Landscape Artist of the Year, and has acted in comedy drama including Green Wing, Episodes, and The Split.
