Druski Desbordes, known for his signature witty banter, sparked buzz at the 2026 Black Entertainment Awards on Sunday night, June 28, 2026.
The BET Awards 2026 were held at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Druski in his opening monologue, that was nothing short of celebrity roasts, viral sketch shout-outs, and one particular jab at Stevie Wonder that has everyone talking.
The American comedian opened the dazzling show night by bringing back his beloved Collect & Praise preacher persona.
That persona of Druski, a fictional pastor, sparked buzz online for soliciting donations from his churchgoers.
But this Druski took aim at some of the well-off stars in attendance at BET 2026.
He took jab at them before making his mock collection plea, saying, “We’ve got so many stars in the building whose net worths are blessed and who God has ordained to bless me.”
Druski first took aim at director Tyler Perry.
“Put Tyler Perry net worth up there. Oh, my God! Glory! $1.4 billion! We pulling net worths tonight,” Druski said.
“Hey, man! I don’t care if it comes from you, Madea, or that mad Black woman. Somebody better donate, amen?”
The jabs took next level when Druski turned to music icon Stevie Wonder.
“Who else in the building? Who else? We got Stevie Wonder in the building. Put his net worth up there.”
As Wonder’s estimated $20 million net worth flashed on the display screen, the CG graphic also included a Braille sign next to his snap, setting up the gag.
“$200 million!” Druski said before a beat.
“Hey, hey! Shut up. He can’t see it. Shut up.”
The moment he dropped that gag, audience burst into laughter as he pushed on with the gag.
“That check is in Braille right there. That’s Braille! That check is signed, sealed, delivered. Damn right. Amen.”
