Drew Barrymore has revealed the secret to her ever-lasting friendship with Cameron Diaz, sharing a heartwarming social media tribute to celebrate their decades-long bond. 

The 51-year-old actress, whose stunning $4.9 million New York home has finally found a buyer, took to her main Instagram page on Wednesday to reflect on her relationship with her former costar. 

Uploading a series of cheerful indoor selfies in a carousel post, Barrymore included text on one of the snaps stating that she and Cameron have been best friends since they were teenagers.

The Ever After star used the sweet public platform to explain exactly what has kept the Hollywood duo so close for nearly forty years.

Barrymore typed out a message explaining that Diaz has always been there for her in both the good and bad times, before adding a final picture of the pair with the simple caption, 

“That’s my why.” 

Reaching out directly to her followers, she asked them who had been there for them and urged everyone to show people the love they deserve, before signing off with a direct tag to her best friend saying, “Hey @camerondiaz, I love you.”

The close-knit pair actually first crossed paths long before finding global fame on the big screen. 

During an Instagram Live cooking session back in 2021, they revealed that they met when Barrymore was just 14 and working in a coffee house, while a 16-year-old Diaz was working as a junior model. 

They gave fans a rather hilarious insight into how they keep in touch nowadays, with Barrymore revealing that they regularly send each other videos from inside their respective closets of themselves getting dressed, dancing around, and sharing information.
