Strictly’s Amy Dowden marked her 36th birthday by saying that ‘every birthday is a privilege.’
The The Strictly Come Dancing star was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023 and underwent extensive treatment, including a mastectomy, chemotherapy, fertility preservation and a near-fatal battle with sepsis.
However in February 2024,Amy was given the all clear and has since returned to Strictly Come Dancing.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, Amy shared a lovely birthday celebrations video along with her friends.
She wrote alongside the post: ‘Another birthday, and I’ll always say that every birthday is a privilege.’
‘Feeling so grateful after the most beautiful weekend spent with my loved ones, making memories and feeling very lucky to be surrounded by so much love.
‘And now, off to spend my birthday doing what I love most, dancing with my Strictly family! Couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate.
‘And a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my beautiful twin sister! So lucky to share this special day with you. Feeling very grateful, very loved and very blessed.’
Earlier this year, Amy opened up about her desire to have children after being forced into medically-induced menopause following her chemotherapy treatment for cancer.
