Princess of Wales launches major new childhood project after cancer battle

Kate Middleton unveils new tool to understand kids’ emotional growth

In a big way, the Princess of Wales headed back to her royal duties after taking a pause following her cancer battle.

Catherine, according to the Daily Mail, arrived at the University of East London to unveil her latest work on early childhood.

A key initiative by her Centre for Early Childhood involves stress sensors or monitors attached to children to observe their emotional development and how they react to different situations.

Separately, the future queen launched Foundations for Life: A Guide to Social and Emotional Developments — an online guide for parents, teachers, and caregivers to understand children’s emotional growth in early stages.

In the guide’s foreword, Kate wrote, in a heartfelt manner, “In a world that feels increasingly distracted, fragmented, and digital… it is more important than ever to invest in what truly helps us to thrive: human connection.”

She continued, “While our society often focuses on academic or physical milestones, research consistently shows that it is our earliest relationships, experiences, and environments that lay the foundations for our future health and happiness.”

“The quality of our connections—with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us—shapes how safe we feel, how we relate, and how we process experiences throughout our lives,” it added.

Kate’s appearance comes hot on the heels of an announcement by Kensington Palace for her first official overseas trip — to Italy — in almost four years.
