Taylor Swift to join Bad Bunny in ‘SNL’ Season 51 premiere?

Fresh off dropping The Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift might be heading straight to Studio 8H, only if fan theories about a surprise Saturday Night Live appearance turn out to be true.

While Doja Cat has already been announced as the musical guest for the season 51 premiere episode, with Bad Bunny set to host, fans are buzzing with speculation that the 14-time Grammy winner could show up for a special cameo on October 4.

Notably, for Swifties, nothing is ever just speculation, it’s all about the Easter eggs.

The buzz stems from the Cruel Summer chart topper’s own publicity schedule ahead of the Life of a Showgirl release at midnight on October 3.

A schedule shared on the pop star’s Instagram account clearly listed her upcoming appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers, both filmed in New York City.

However the slot for October 4 was left mysteriously vague, marked only with the word “standby” under a hole-punch, fueling speculation that something is indeed planned for that night.

“But what are we standing by for on 10/4?” one fan asked online.

“10/4 is the SNL Season Premiere! [red heart and fire emoji],” another replied.

“SNL!!!” others agreed, excitedly pointing out the possible link.

Some eagle eyed fans noted that the hole-punch was positioned over the 7 p.m. mark, technically before SNL airs at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Others pointed out a faint line stretching into the late-night hours, suggesting the cryptic “standby” slot might be a cleverly disguised clue for a surprise cameo.

While there’s no official confirmation that Swift, 35, will make an appearance at 30 Rockefeller Plaza this weekend, it wouldn’t be out of character.

She’s no stranger to the SNL stage, having first performed as a musical guest in 2009 and returning multiple times since as both host and performer.
