The 2026 Oscars race is changing fast, with some big movies now expected to come out in 2027 instead.
One of the biggest movies caught up in the change is Netflix’s Here Comes the Flood, starring Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, Daisy Edgar Jones, Danai Gurira and Sean Harris.
The movie finished filming earlier this year but Netflix may not have enough time to finish everything needed for a 2026 release.
Another Netflix movie, Saturn Return, could also be moved to 2027.
The film stars Charles Melton, Rachel Brosnahan and Will Poulter and may be appeared at South by Southwest in March next year.
A24 is also moving some of its films as Brad Pitt’s The Riders is now likely to come out in 2027.
The Entertainment System Is Down, starring Keanu Reeves, Kirsten Dunst and Daniel Brühl, may also wait until next year.
Meanwhile, Tom Ford’s Cry to Heaven and Joel Coen’s Jack of Spades are still looking for companies to release them.
Some other movies are already planned for 2027.
With so many big films moving out of 2026, the Oscar race could look very different from what many expected.
