Elon Musk is reportedly launching a YouTube-like streaming service on Amazon and Samsung TV very soon, claiming users will be able to watch their “favourite X long-form videos directly on your SmartTVs”.
The dedicated app would be a “video-first” platform, translating beyond small content boxes on big screens. The X CEO has also claimed that eight out of ten users on the platform watch videos.
An Edison Research report has recently found that this year has seen a 30% drop in the site’s usage compared to the previous year, 2023.
X has consistently been dwindling between creators and advertisers, ensuring new tools are launched to help bring more users and engagement to the site. In February, the company announced that it was soon releasing tools so “advertisers on X can run ads against a curated list of premium content creators.”
