Rohit Sharma was born to Purnima and Gurunath Sharma in Nagpur, Maharastra. Due to his family’s financial issues, Rohit was raised by his grandparents and uncles in Borivali and he used to visit his parents in Dombivli, Maharastra over the weekends. It was his uncle who financially supported him to join a cricket camp in 1999 where he was spotted by coach Dinesh Lad, and this changed Rohit’s life forever. It was Dinesh Lad who noticed Rohit’s on-field talent and later even got Rohit a scholarship for better cricket coaching and training facilities. Through his hardword, grit and determination over the years, Rohit made it to the India national cricket team and the rest, as they say, is history!
