WhatsApp introduces major UI change for chat list filters – SUCH TV

WhatsApp is set to enhance user experience with a new feature that will keep chat list filters permanently visible, allowing users to easily access chat filters.

The new update, which is currently being rolled out to select beta testers, allows users to access chat filters at the top of their chats, eliminating the need for users to scroll to find them, as required previously.

Users can immediately see which filters contain new messages rather than manually scrolling through the conversation list each time, WABetaInfo reported.

This significant change streamlines chat navigation in the app, making it easier for users to manage their conversations. Whether organising chats into personal, work or group categories, users can quickly identify new unread messages across different sections.

Meanwhile, businesses and professionals who handle multiple chat threads will also benefit from this update, as they can prioritise responses more efficiently.

Additionally, some beta testers may also notice that the filter to display their favourites has been automatically moved ahead of other secondary lists.

With this change, WhatsApp enables users to mark specific contacts as favourites for quick access so that they can find their most important contacts effortlessly, without having to manually adjust the filter order.

Beta testers can explore the latest feature in Meta’s popular instant-messaging app by downloading the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.4.12 update via the Google Play Store.

Additionally, the new update will be rolled out to even more people over the coming weeks.
