The swift resignation of Supreme Court’s Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan, occurring hot on the heels of Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi’s, has triggered widespread intrigue and speculation.
Ahsan was in line to become the next chief justice of Pakistan in October this year after incumbent CJP Qazi Faez Isa’s tenure ended.
While Justice Ahsan said in his resignation to President Arif Alvi that he wishes not to continue as the top court’s judge anymore, analysts believe this is not the entire story.
