Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty’s wealth has surpassed King Charles and now a detailed list of UK’s top billionaires has also been revealed.

At a time when millions of Britons struggled with the cost of living, the latest annual Sunday Times rich list shows that the couple’s wealth increased substantially, according to The Guardian.

Sunak and Murty’s wealth is nearly at £651 million in the latest list, which is up from £529 million in 2023.

The public have overwhelmingly used the word “rich” to describe Rishi Sunak in previous surveys as the latest figures also reflect public opinion about the prime minister’s wealth.

Robert Watts, who is the compiler of the list, said: “This year’s Sunday Times rich list suggests Britain’s billionaire boom has come to an end. Many of our homegrown entrepreneurs have seen their fortunes fall and some of the global super-rich who came here are moving away.”

“Thousands of British livelihoods rely on the super-rich to some extent. We’ll have to wait and see whether we have now reached peak billionaire, and what that means for our economy,” he added.

A combined wealth of £795.36 billion is held by the list of Britain’s 350 richest individuals, according to the data. This year’s list is again topped by Gopi Hinduja and his family for another time. He and his family control the Indian conglomerate Hinduja Group. Their wealth grew to £37.2 billion, from £35 billion.

Additionally, the wealth of a number of the UK’s highest-profile billionaires decreased over the year in the middle of challenging times for many businesses and investments. This also includes Jim Ratcliffe, James Dyson and Richard Branson for this year.
