Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce seem to be in deep waters with the NFL star’s ex, Kayla Nicole, who took a brutal jab at the couple.
The 33-year-old sportscaster took to Instagram on Friday, October 31, and showed off her Halloween look, which fans took to be a clear swipe at the pop superstar, 35, and her now-fiancé.
Nicole’s costume for the spooky holiday was Toni Braxton’s look from her He Wasn’t Man Enough music video, and shared her video dancing to the song, along with pictures against different backgrounds.
Social media users were quick to point out how the song choice seemed to be a shade towards her ex-boyfriend and Swift, as one commented, “The shade is real [laugh emoji],” another added, “This is how you have the last laugh..,” referring to the ongoing exchange of subtle digs between the Eras Tour performer and Nicole.
“Somebody gon check on TayTay?” chimed in a third, while others criticised the influencer for attacking the newly engaged couple, “stop embarrassing urself online girl its been three years.”
One swiftly wrote, “it’s actually romantic,” quoting the Grammy winner’s song of the same name.
The song Nicole chose had the lyrics, “Listen, girl / Who do you think I am? / Don’t you know that he was my man? / But I chose to let him go / So why do you act like I still care about him?”
The shade appeared to be a clap back on Swift’s dig at Nicole in her new song, Opalite, where she sings, “You couldn’t understand it / Why you felt alone / You were in it for real / She was in her phone / You were just a pose,” which was believed to be about a famous video of Kelce and Nicole in which he asked her to put her phone down.
