The clash occurred in the Immigration Section at Zero Point on the border. The FC men held the view that border protection was their domain, therefore, they would check documents of the passengers. The FIA staff, however, said that the FC men had no work inside the Immigration Section.

Because of the clash, the Torkham border crossing was closed for all types of traffic. The border crossing reopened for pedestrian traffic after four hours. Hospital sources said that the injured peope were out of danger.
