This Food Vlogger’s Technique To Cut And Peel Avocados Is Impressing Internet

Avocados are considered one of the most nutritious fruits. From avocado toast to guacamole, a creamy dip, or even a salad, this versatile fruit is used in many dishes. However, peeling and cutting an avocado can be challenging for many of us. But do not worry, a food vlogger has shared “the most genius way to peel and deseed an avocado.” This method avoids striking the pit with a knife or scooping out the fruit with a spoon. In the video uploaded on Instagram, the vlogger starts by taking an avocado and cutting around the pit vertically. Instead of cutting it in half, she makes two more cuts to divide the fruit into four equal pieces. Once done, the fruit is separated from the pit using hands. To peel the avocado, no peeler or knife is needed—just use your hands to separate the skin. And voila, your avocado is ready to be cut and used in various dishes. Sounds easy, right?

While sharing the video, the vlogger wrote, “How did I just learn this?!”

Someone said, “This is so helpful. I literally just cut my finger this morning trying to take the seed out.”

“Love this trick,” echoed a few.

While many appreciated the technique, Mexicans made sure to say that they are the best when it comes to cutting avocados.

A person wrote, “I’ve been doing this for decades. I’m Mexican though, so I’ve been cutting avocados since I was a child. My tia would make fun of me for not striking the pit with my knife, but I’ve cut myself before because the knife wasn’t super sharp. She literally said, ‘That’s not how a real woman cuts an avocado.’”

“That is taught to all Mexican Catholic kids right after their first communion,” joked another.

An Instagrammer mentioned, “I’m Mexican I can cut an avocado a million ways lol.”
