Show-cause notice issued to Naseem Shah over social media post – SUCH TV

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday issued a show-cause notice to fast bowler Naseem Shah for allegedly violating the terms of his central contract.

According to a PCB statement, the notice has been issued under the Board’s disciplinary framework, and Naseem Shah has been instructed to submit his response within the stipulated time.

The statement added that any further action will be decided only after reviewing his reply, with professional standards, adherence to contracts, and the integrity of the game being upheld at all times.

Sources indicated that if the allegations are proven, Naseem Shah’s central contract could be at risk.

He is currently listed under the C-category of the PCB’s central contract.

The controversy arose after a post from Naseem Shah’s social media account on X targeted Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz during her visit to the Gaddafi Stadium for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) opening ceremony.

The post questioned why she was being given “queen-like protocol.”

The post was later deleted, with Shah claiming that his account had been hacked and subsequently recovered.

Naseem Shah is representing Rawalpindiz in PSL 11.

PCB officials emphasised that all players are expected to maintain professional conduct on and off the field, including on social media platforms.
