The Sensex opened at 81,354.43, slightly higher than its previous close of 81,330.56, and surged 1,277 points (1.6%) to touch an intraday high of 82,607. Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 reclaimed the 25,000 level, jumping 1.7% after opening at 24,694.45 and hitting an intraday peak of 25,076, up from its previous close of 24,666.90.
