Hollywood once again proved its love for Halloween, as stars across film, music, and television delivered an unforgettable array of creative and bold costumes for 2025.
Celebrities turned up in inventive, movie-inspired, and nostalgia-fueled looks that paid tribute to pop culture icons and classic characters alike.
From Lady Gaga’s avant-garde transformation to Heidi Klum’s mythological masterpiece, the year’s spookiest night turned into a showcase of artistry and imagination.
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga’s Halloween look stood out as one of the most symbolic of the night. Drawing inspiration from her latest album Mayhem, the Grammy winner embodied both the Garden of Eden and its gardener—an elaborate dual costume that captured the essence of her new music.
“Happy Halloween to all the grave diggers,” Gaga wrote on Instagram, signing off, “love, Mother Monster.”
Keke Palmer
KeKe Palmer and her son brought major nostalgia by dressing as Snoop Dogg and Bow Wow from the rapper’s classic Bow Wow (That’s My Name) music video, celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The mother-son duo won hearts online for their clever tribute to early 2000s hip-hop culture.
Janelle Monáe
Janelle Monáe once again showcased her flair for performance with a transformation into Dr Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat.
Complete with full prosthetics and cinematic makeup, the Grammy-nominated artist shared clips of her playful, animated portrayal of the beloved character.
Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling took a glamorous turn by channeling Kate Hudson’s character Andie Anderson from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Wearing a stunning recreation of Hudson’s silky yellow gown, Kaling captioned her post, “Thank you Kate Hudson for inventing yellow.” Hudson herself responded, “Ahhhh! Hahaha! Yes!!!” adding to the internet’s delight.
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran leaned into horror this year, stepping out as Pennywise from It. The singer’s detailed costume, complete with eerie makeup and signature red balloon, left fans doing double takes as he roamed the streets of New York City.
“In for a Penny,” he captioned his Instagram post, embracing the chilling spirit of the night.
Coco Jones
Coco Jones honoured musical history with a glamorous tribute to Dreamgirls, recreating one of the film’s iconic posters featuring Jennifer Hudson, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and Anika Noni Rose.
Her costume radiated old-school elegance and vocal powerhouse energy.
Julia Fox’s
Julia Fox’s look drew the most controversy, as she appeared as a blood-stained Jackie Kennedy Onassis—mirroring the outfit the former First Lady wore on the day of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.
Defending her decision, Fox wrote, “I dressed up as Jackie not as a costume, but as a statement,” describing it as an artistic expression of “trauma, power, and how femininity itself is a form of resistance.”
Meanwhile, talk show hosts embraced the fun spirit of the holiday as well. Today hosts Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager transformed into fashion icons Miranda Priestly and Anna Wintour, while Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos donned multiple looks, including Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
Last but not the least, Halloween’s reigning queen Heidi Klum celebrated her 25th annual party in New York City dressed as a mesmerising Medusa.
Complete with a serpentine tail, fanged mouth, and a crown of moving snakes, Klum once again reaffirmed her title as Hollywood’s ultimate Halloween icon.
Happy Halloween!
