The Sindh government has announced the closure of all public and private schools across the province on Monday, August 26, in observance of the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA).
The decision was officially communicated on Friday through a notification issued by the provincial education department’s steering committee.
The province will mark the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) with deep reverence and stringent security measures.
This day commemorates the end of a 40-day mourning period following the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions in the historic Battle of Karbala on the 10th of Muharram in 680 AD.
Mourning processions, including those carrying Alam, Tazia, and Zuljinah, will be held across various cities in Sindh as part of the solemn observance.
