Sabrina Carpenter’s beloved “Juno arrest” segment took a spooky turn during latest NYC show, thanks to a surprise appearance from Drew Barrymore.
During the 26-year-old pop star’s Short n’ Sweet tour stop at Madison Square Garden on October 31, the Emmy winner became the latest celebrity to get “arrested” during the fan-favourite bit this Halloween.
The Never Been Kissed star made a fitting festive cameo by channeling Ghostface, the very killer who murdered her character Casey Becker in Scream.
When the Please Please Please chart topper asked for her name, the 50-year-old mischievously replied, “Ghostface,” prompting the Grammy winner to laugh and flirt back, “I’m sweating, you’re just my type.”
Barrymore then revealed her true identity and removed her gloves, leading the Manchild songstress to joke, “Oh my God, are we doing a strip tease now?”
Social media lit up with excitement after clips from the performance went viral with longtime Scream fans instantly obsessing over the duo’s banter and remembering Barrymore’s iconic role.
“Never realized just how badly I needed to see Drew Barrymore in the Ghostface mask,” one fan wrote.
Another commented, “THE GHOSTFACE REVEAL WE NEEDED ALL THESE YEARS,” while a third added, “THIS IS SO ICONIC OMG!!!”
The fourth MSG show out of the five-night run wasn’t just a regular event, it was a full-on Short n’ Spooky special, complete with festive decorations, surprise costumes, and plenty of tricks and treats for fans.
Carpenter kicked off her New York City concert series last weekend and will wrap up the Madison Square Garden shows this Saturday before heading to Nashville and Toronto.
