PTI announces nationwide protest on Friday against constitutional amendments

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) political committee has announced a nationwide protest on Friday and vowed strong resistance against the constitutional amendments.

The PTI political committee meeting, chaired by Barrister Gohar, decided to fiercely oppose the constitutional changes.

According to the statement, a nationwide protest has been called for Friday against the amendments and the mistreatment of founding chairman Imran Khan.

All regional and local organisations have been instructed to hold peaceful and strong protests outside district headquarters after the Friday prayers.

The statement further declared that the government’s attempt to distort the constitution through amendments will not be accepted. All segments of society who believe in the supremacy of the constitution are urged to participate in the peaceful protests.

The committee also agreed to make every possible effort to block the amendments in both houses of Parliament, while also demanding the immediate restoration of Imran Khan’s fundamental rights and access to his family, lawyers, and party leaders.

Additionally, the committee called for the immediate release of all detained leaders, including Imran Khan’s sisters Aleema Khanum and Uzma Khanum, Advocate Intizar Hussain Panjotha, Azam Swati, the PTI Balochistan president, and all imprisoned workers and members of parliament.
