Prince Harry reveals daughter Lili’s hair secret and talks about ‘Ginger Genes’

Prince Harry shares sweet details about Archie and Lilibet’s inherited traits.

Prince Harry has revealed an adorable detail about his children, Archie and Lilibet, during a recent appearance at the WellChild Awards.

Speaking to HELLO! magazine’s Sophie Vokes-Dudgeon, Harry shared that his young children have inherited their mother Meghan Markle’s long, thick hair.

“Archie and Lili have been blessed with their mother’s thick hair,” he said, adding with a smile that it won’t be long before Lilibet will be sitting on it herself!

The heartfelt comment came as Harry spoke about his children with enthusiasm ahead of the awards, where he has long served as patron.

Sophie noted that his genuine energy and affection for the cause were clear, reflecting the deep connection he feels to this special day.

During an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, he divulged: “The Spencer gene is very, very strong.

I actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Meghan] that should this go the distance and we have kids that there’s no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife’s genes, but I was wrong!”

Prince Harry is embracing life at 40 with enthusiasm, buoyed by friends who’ve told him it’s the best decade yet.

At the recent WellChild Awards, he shared his high hopes for the milestone year while also giving a humorous update on life at home with Meghan and their two children.

According to Sophie, Harry said his wife has her hands full not only with the kids but also with their three unruly dogs—who are still not quite house-trained—and their chickens! “She’s holding the fort,” he joked, clearly relishing his time away.

She noted that Harry seemed “in his element” at the event, which he has attended for years in his role as patron.

For the Duke, the real joy is spending time with the children, parents, and professionals honored during the night.

Royal editor Emily Nash, who accompanies the Prince each year, observed that the Duke is always seen playing with the children, often on his knees, laughing and raising their spirits—something that has taken on even greater meaning since becoming a father himself.
