PMD predicts hot, dry weather with sporadic thunderstorms | The Express Tribune

ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that most areas across the country are expected to experience hot and dry conditions on Monday.

However, it added that there is a possibility of thunderstorms and rain in several regions, including upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), northeastern Punjab, Pothohar, northeastern Balochistan, southeastern Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Islamabad and its surrounding areas will see hot and partly cloudy weather, with potential thunderstorms and rain in some localities. Similarly, most districts in K-P are forecasted to remain hot and dry throughout the day.

Despite this, there is a chance of thunderstorms and rain in the evening and night in districts such as Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Tank, Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Balakot, Mansehra, Kohistan, Khyber, Peshawar, and Kurram.

Karachi experienced hot and humid weather yesterday, with temperatures potentially soaring up to 39 degrees Celsius. The city’s weather was influenced by northwest winds from Balochistan, with intense heat persisting through both Saturday and Sunday nights.
