ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is in Karachi today for a day-long trip to review the city’s port operations and meet with key business leaders, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement.
During the visit, the premier will receive briefings on the Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Port Qasim Authority (PQA), and Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC). This visit aims to address and improve the operations of these critical port authorities.
PM Shehbaz is also expected to meet with a delegation of business personalities from the export and import sectors. This meeting is expected to focus on reforms and facilitation measures to boost the country’s revenue and support the business community.
He will tour the Karachi Port to evaluate its operations and is expected to make significant decisions to enhance its efficiency.
Throughout the visit, the prime minister will receive briefings on increasing national revenue, providing facilities to the business community, and implementing reforms in the export-import sector.
Key decisions in these areas are expected to be made during the visit.
