Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Brazil in November, that a high-level delegation, including some federal ministers, would also accompany the prime minister to the South American country. They said that during his stay in Brazil, the prime minister would attend a conference (COP 30) on climate change, which will be organized under the auspices of the United Nations from November 10 to November 21.
Sources informed that the participants of the conference would discuss ways and means through which the expected 1.5 degrees Celsius increase in global temperatures could be averted.
Sources elaborated that the prime minister, in his speech at the event, would speak at length about the impact that climate change had on the country.
He, at the conference, would stress the need for climate financing and urge the world powers to keep their promises with respect to reducing emissions in order to rein in climate change, they informed.
PM Shehbaz, sources went on to say, would also meet with Brazilian President Lula da Silva. He would also meet with other world leaders on the sidelines of the conference.
