PM Shehbaz, KP CM Gandapur break the ice in ‘positive meeting’ – SUCH TV



Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur Wednesday called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here at the Prime Minister House.

Both leaders discussed different issues including strong future engagement between the federal government and the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

In the meeting, the chief minister also discussed the money the federation owes to the province. There was also a discussion on the ban on meetings with PTI Founding Chairman Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

The affairs of the province, as well as constitutional and legal issues also discussed in the meeting.

Both the dignitaries also discussed the appointment of the Chief Secretary KP. They highlighted the challenges and discussed the possible cooperation and collaboration between the federation and the provincial government.

Talking to the media after meeting PM along with planning minister Ahsan Iqbal, KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur said he had very “positive” talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on public and provincial issues, law and order and other matters.

“It was very positive and he gave full support and reassured,” Gandapur said of the interaction with the premier.

KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur has stressed on the need to solve public issues together and the need for the federal and provincial governments to deliver.

“We had good talks. It was very positive. He assured that he would fulfil his promise and would not lie,” Gandapur said about PM Shehbaz.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal also expressed his positivity on the talks between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur, saying that the premier had reassured that the province’s dues would be fulfilled by the federal government.

He said the prime minister had obligated officials of the finance ministry to sit down with KP officials on the matter of dues to the province.

Iqbal said the prime minister also gave instructions regarding difficulties faced by the people during suhoor and iftar in KP.

It may be mentioned that, KP CM didn’t attend the oath-taking ceremony of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The move bore a negative impact on the possible future coordination between the federal government and KP province.
