The Mumbai Police have filed a chargesheet in the case of the firing incident outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s Bandra residence, revealing a plot orchestrated by Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The chargesheet alleges that Anmol directed a gunman to fire shots to intimidate Khan and assert the Bishnoi gang’s dominance in Mumbai.
The chargesheet, submitted to the special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court, includes transcripts of conversations between Anmol Bishnoi and shooter Vickykumar Gupta.
According to the chargesheet, Anmol instructed Gupta to fire shots in a manner that would intimidate Khan and suggested that Gupta smoke during the act to project fearlessness on CCTV footage.
“You will create history by doing this job and your name will be there in all newspapers and other media,” Anmol reportedly told Gupta.
Salman Khan’s statement, included in the chargesheet, recounts how he was awakened by a sound similar to a firecracker early on 14 April.
His police bodyguard later informed him that two individuals on a motorbike had fired shots at the first-floor balcony of his Galaxy Apartments residence.
Anmol Bishnoi, who admitted to orchestrating the shooting, currently resides in Canada.
However, Mumbai police traced the IP address of a Facebook post where he confessed to Portugal and have issued a lookout circular (LOC) for him.
In his statement, Khan expressed his belief that Lawrence Bishnoi, with the help of his gang members, carried out the attack with the intent to harm him and his family.
