Jade Thirlwall shared the warm response she received from her former Little Mix bandmates Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock in the wake of her debut solo album, That’s Showbiz, Baby!
At the album release party held last month at 3 Dollar Bill in Brooklyn, New York City, Thirlwall expressed her excitement over the overwhelming response on her latest album.
“I’m really buzzing about it, and the response has been incredible,” the 32-year-old said, before sharing the reactions from her bandmates.
“They messaged me congratulating me. I actually saw Leigh-Anne last night at an event, so we’ve caught up. They’ve been very, very lovely,” she says of Edwards and Pinnock’s reactions.
For the unversed, Thirlwall’s album dropped on September 12, just one week before Edwards, 32, released her self-titled solo debut on September 26.
Meanwhile, Pinnock, 33, is embarking on a new chapter of her own career.
The Angel of My Dreams songstress expressed special excitement for two tracks in particular: Unconditionally and You Break My Heart, which interpolates a childhood recording of Thirlwall singing The Supremes’ 1965 classic Stop! In the Name of Love.
However, gaining approval to use the iconic Supremes sample wasn’t easy.
The X Factor alum revealed she gave up a significant portion of her publishing royalties to make it happen.
“I love Diana Ross and The Supremes, so it felt right to have a song on the album that sampled that,” she explained. “So, whatever they take is fine by me.”
Additionally, Thirlwall will gear up to support her album with That’s Showbiz, Baby! The Tour, which is set to kick off with North American dates in February 2026.
