Prince William made some time to visit his expansive private estate, which he inherited from his father King Charles, following his ascension.
The Kensington Palace shared a rare image of the future king, making a low-key visit to one of its most revered inns, seemingly to keep tabs on how things are running.
“Prince William popped into The Warren House Inn earlier, on beautiful Dartmoor. Legend has it the pub fire has been alight since it was built in 1845!” the office of Prince and Princess of Wales wrote on social media on Thursday.
A beaming William was captured in a photo, standing in front of the menu for the day at the historic place.
The Warren House Inn is the highest inn in Southern England and offers all a warm welcome, per its official website.
According to the lore, its central fire has burned continuously since 1845 and the inn is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall.
The outing comes after William also paid a visit to the 700-year-old estate, Duchy of Cornwall, where he interacted with the pupils at Duchy College Stoke Climsland in Callington.
William was welcomed to the campus by Duchy College staff, and participated in a CSI training exercise with students enrolled in its Military & Protective Services Academy.
The visit to the inn may have also been a stopover for King Charles’ son while traveling to or from the Duchy College.
