Minister of State for Cryptocurrency and Blockchain, Bilal Bin Saqib, represented Pakistan at the recent Bitcoin Asia Conference in Hong Kong.
He highlighted that effective regulation would be crucial for the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies, a point recognized by both regional and international experts who praised Pakistan’s progress.
The Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) has already positioned the country as South Asia’s first independent crypto regulatory body, a milestone seen as pivotal for the growth of the digital finance sector.
Notably, Indian crypto influencer Bitcoin Wala also lauded Bilal Bin Saqib’s leadership, stating: “We need leaders like Bilal Bin Saqib in India as well.”
With cryptocurrency and blockchain gaining traction, Pakistan is increasingly being recognised as more than just a participant it is positioning itself as a potential model for digital innovation across the Global South.
