Pakistan has condemned the unprovoked Israeli assault on Iran, calling it an “unacceptable violation of international law” after Tehran’s nuclear and military facilities were targeted early morning on Friday that resulted in the deaths of Iranian nuclear scientists and the military’s top officials.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement on X, reiterated Pakistan’s support for Iran’s sovereign right to self-defence and its impact on regional stability ” I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, today’s unprovoked attack on Iran by Israel. I convey my deepest sympathies to the Iranian people on the loss of lives in this attack. This grave and highly irresponsible act is deeply alarming and risks further de-stabilising an already volatile region.”
“We urge the international community and the United Nations to take urgent steps to prevent any further escalation that could imperil regional and global peace”, the PM added.

DPM and FM Ishaq Dar
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also condemned the Israeli actions in a statement on X saying “Strongly condemn unjustified Israeli attacks on Islamic Republic of Iran which is a brazen violation of Iran’s sovereignty. This abhorrent action has shaken foundations of international law as well as conscience of humanity, and gravely undermines regional stability and international security. Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Government and the people of Iran.
The statement further urged the international community to take immediate notice of the situation and prevent further escalation in an already volatile region.

MOFA statement
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) also described Israel’s actions as a breach of International law and violation of Iran’s sovereign intergrirty, ” Pakistan strongly condemns Israel’s military strikes inside Iranian territory. These actions are a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter,” the FO spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added, “Iran, as a sovereign nation, has every right to defend itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter. Pakistan stands in resolute soiliarity with the people of Iran and unequiovocally denounces these blatant provocations ”
Furthermore, the statement urged the international community to take immediate notice of the situation and prevent further regional escalation by holding the Israel, the agressor accountable for its actions.

Israel’s attack on Iran was carried out under the pretext of preventing Tehran from developing atomic weapons. The assault came despite Iran’s long-standing insistence that its nuclear programme is purely for civilian purposes and has triggered reactions from major countries across the globe.
