A cyber fraud scheme carried out in the name of the National Database and Regulatory Authority (Nadra) has come to light, with several fake websites found using the authority’s name to steal citizens’ data and personal information.
The National CERT, in coordination with Nadra, has started a crackdown. So far, nine websites have been blocked. In a cyber alert, National CERT said citizens should remain cautious of fake websites operating in Nadra’s name. Personal information should not be shared before checking the website’s domain.
Nadra services are available only on the official government website. Citizens have also been advised to remain careful of suspicious emails, SMS messages and social media links.
