MKT, The Chanakya Hosts Some Amazing Food Festivals And I Love Them All

Food festivals are a fantastic way to explore different cuisines from all over the world without leaving the city. They offer a unique opportunity to taste authentic dishes prepared by skilled chefs, often at a fraction of the cost of dining at a traditional restaurant. One fabulous place in Delhi to experience these food festivals is MKT, The Chanakya. This upscale restaurant regularly hosts themed food festivals that showcase a variety of cuisines, from Japanese and Thai to Chinese, European, Mexican, and Indian coastal specialities. I personally look forward to all the festivals frequently hosted by MKT and each one impresses me with the selection of the dishes and delicious flavours.

Sake Soiree Pop-up at MKT, The Chanakya:

At MKT, The Chanakya, the excitement of global flavours is brought to life by the culinary prowess of Chef Rinki Saha and head mixologist Sanjay Rawat. Their curated menus promise to impress and delight. This September 2024, they invite you to immerse yourself in the enchanting Sake Soiree Pop-up, a celebration of Japanese traditions. This special event transforms the restaurant into a slice of Japan, featuring an izakaya-inspired menu paired beautifully with artisanal sake cocktails. I tried the menu and absolutely loved it.

One highlight is the Salmon Tartare, a delicate assembly of tobiko, fujiko, and dashi soy that creates a harmonious blend of flavours. For sashimi lovers, the New Age Hamachi Sashimi is an extraordinary treat. This dish presents a bold fusion of heat from jalapeno, the crunch of bubu arare, and a cooling touch of wasabi foam, all combined with a tangy buttermilk reduction that is simply mind-blowing. Vegetarians will also find delight in the Avocado and Kyuri Tartare and the Tofu Carpaccio, each offering a fresh perspective on Japanese cuisine.

Pairing these dishes with expertly crafted sake cocktails enhances the dining experience further. I had the Shichimi cocktail, which was a refreshing concoction of Hakutsuru junmai and citrus-infused vermouth, which offers an intriguing citrusy note. But if you like your cocktail sweeter, go for Chuhai cocktail. It serves as a delightful conclusion to your meal, blending junmai with floral essences and luscious berries in an effervescent delight.

In addition to the Sake Soiree, MKT, The Chanakya has previously dazzled me with events like the “Street Food Carnival.” This vibrant festival brought together a selection of international street food favourites, capturing the essence of bustling markets around the globe. The menu featured delights such as cheesy Italian Arancini di Riso, crispy Japanese Karaage, and fluffy Bao Buns filled with either Schezwan vegetables or braised Belgian pork belly. Each dish was crafted to highlight the unique flavours and techniques that make street food so beloved.

MKT, The Chanakya stands out not only for its captivating food festivals but also for its extensive array of international cuisines, including Japanese, Thai, Chinese, European, Mexican, and Indian coastal specialities. The restaurant boasts a sleek, modern design and an inviting atmosphere that enhances your dining experience. And their hospitality is extraordinary. You feel welcomed and valued as a diner. With a thoughtfully curated menu and a wide selection of wines and cocktails, MKT, The Chanakya is the perfect destination for anyone looking to indulge in authentic global flavors.
