Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly appointed the latter’s mother as their kids’ nanny.
According to a recent report from the Daily Express, source revealed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have chosen to entrust Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 2, to Doria Ragland, who apparently lives with the coupld in their Montecito mansion.
“Harry and Meghan have used a number of nannies in the past, but now that Doria has moved in with the family, she has stepped up to help look after the children,” the source said.
“Doria was instrumental in looking after Archie and Lilibet when they [Harry and Meghan] were in Nigeria and she treats them like they are her own,” they explained.
“Meghan feels much more comfortable with the children under her mother’s watchful eye and Harry was very keen to keep it [childcare] in the family.
“Both Harry and Meghan are extremely protective of their children and only stop worrying about them if Doria is in charge whenever they are away.
“Meghan thought it very important that the children be brought up by family rather than an outsider so they feel safe and secure at all times,” the insider added.
Their decision is yet another tradition break away from royal family, who consistently splash out on professional nannies to take care of their young ones.
Royal author Omid Scobie previously details Harry and Meghan’s horrid experience with a night nanny for baby Archie, in his book, Finding Freedom.
The incident involved the nurse being “unprofessional and irresponsible” on her second night, leaving the former royal pair nervous about their subsequent hires.
