After announcing the pregnancy in November last year, Mariyam Nafees and her husband Amaan Ahmed have finally been blessed with a baby boy. Mariyam shared the grand update in an Instagram carousel, which featured photos of the baby and the parents at various angles.
The Yaqeen Ka Safar actor wrote, “Our world just got a lot more handsome! World, meet Syed Eesa Amaan Ahmed. A week or so old, arrived in this blessed month, this little guy has made us fall for him hard and fast. Welcome to the world, baby boy. May you live your dreams, Aameen.”
At the end of the caption, Mariyam asked for prayers and promised to keep others in her. “Lovelies, please keep us in your prayers. To all the women trying to conceive, I pray that you’re blessed with a healthy baby super soon, Aameen,” she wrote.
Celebrities and fans alike flooded the comments section with love. “Many, many congratulations. May your little bundle of joy be a source of immeasurable happiness for you, Aameen,” wrote veteran actor Hina Bayat. “Congratulations to both of you! Masha Allah,” wrote Rabab Hashim.
Fans, too, offered prayers for the family’s well-being. Some even commented on the baby’s resemblance to his actor mother. “He is exactly you,” a user wrote, while another added that Eesa’s nose is the same as Mariyam’s.
During an interview on a local talk show in January, the Neem actor addressed the cultural norm of shielding all mention of pregnancy in public. She explained that when she and Amaan revealed the impending arrival of their baby on Instagram, she was considered to be in the “safe zone”.
“People are still so shy when talking about pregnancies,” she observed. “But I want to talk about these things! Why do I have to hide my bump? It’s a very natural thing. No one is saying ‘spread indecency’, but it’s something to be proud of. The journey I am going through is so beautiful and I want to share it with the people who are happy for me.”
