Lil Wayne appears to be toning down the temperature as he seemingly extends an olive branch to Kendrick Lamar after his track Wacced Out Murals called him out.
In a chat with The Skip Bayless Show, the Lollipop rapper said, “I think [Lamar’s] a fan like I’m a fan of his music … he saw what everybody else [saw], and he saw how much it meant to me.”
“I think that’s all he meant … obviously he can’t control that. He didn’t let me down. It ain’t like he can control it.”
“He knew he didn’t have to do anything. There was no explanation that was needed,” he concluded.
It comes after his strong-worded warning to K.Dot when he mentioned the A Milli hitmaker in his song in reaction to Wayne’s vocal disappointment after what he believed the makers of the Super Bowl snubbed him for the halftime show gig.
“You know what I’m talking about. It hurt a whole lot,” he said at the time, as the mega-event will be held in his city, New Orleans. “For automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position.”
So, I blame myself for that. But I thought that was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city, so it hurt. It hurt a whole lot,” he concluded.
