Leonardo DiCaprio is teasing fans with the possibility of revisiting one of his most iconic roles.
The Oscar winner, who is set to appear in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, admitted he wouldn’t mind stepping back into the shoes of corrupt stockbroker Jordan Belfort from The Wolf of Wall Street.
“It would be fun,” DiCaprio told E! News in an interview that aired Sept. 10, “to do more Wolf of Wall Street stuff.”
The 2013 Martin Scorsese film, which also starred Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey and Jonah Hill, earned DiCaprio his fourth Oscar nomination and remains one of his most memorable performances.
He later took home his first Academy Award in 2016 for The Revenant.
In his upcoming action-thriller One Battle After Another, DiCaprio shares the screen with Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn and Teyana Taylor.
Speaking about his co-star at the film’s premiere, he praised Taylor’s comedic side, saying she has “the best sense of humor” and that he knew right away she would “bring the heat” to the role.
Taylor, 34, and DiCaprio, 50, may portray lovers in the movie, but their connection runs much deeper off-screen.
In a joint interview with The New York Times published Sept. 8, Taylor revealed that their friendship began years ago at Diana Ross’s birthday party.
“Funny thing: Me and Leo actually met at Diana Ross’s birthday party some years back and instantly became best buds,” she said. “That’s my wingman, my partner in crime!”
DiCaprio echoed her words, explaining that their bond made it easy to see her as Perfidia, the fiery and radical character at the heart of the story.
“Paul and I were talking about who would play this lightning rod of a character that was a radical but also somebody that was able to manipulate,” he explained.
He noted that Perfidia’s presence shapes the entire film, leaving lasting effects on every character.
Finding the right actor for such a role was crucial, and both he and Anderson kept circling back to Taylor.
“We just kept on talking about our girl Teyana,” DiCaprio said.
“She just embodied that character in a way that I don’t think anyone else could. We’re all left as carnage after she comes onscreen, picking up the pieces of our lives.”
